Energy Assistance Program Relocates to

 1017 Brightseat Road in Landover for One Week Only

 

LANDOVER, MD – July 1st marks the opening of the State of Maryland’s Office of Home Energy Program (OHEP) 2013 Energy Assistance Program operated locally by the Prince George’s County Department of Social Services.  In an effort to enhance access to services, the Prince George’s County Department of Social Services is relocating the Energy Assistance program from 425 Brightseat Road to a larger space located at 1017 Brightseat Road, Landover, MD  20785, in order to accommodate the expected influx of customers seeking assistance with their utility bills.

On a daily basis, hundreds of customers receive service at the 425 Brightseat Road location [which typically serves Temporary Cash, Medical Assistance, Food Supplement and Energy Assistance customers].  To proactively address the expected demand and to decrease congestion, only energy assistance customers will be served at the temporary location beginning Monday, July 2nd through Friday, July 6th, 2012 with the office closed on Wednesday, July 4th in observance of the holiday.  Please note that normal operations and location will resume on Monday, July 9, 201.

To apply in person, bring the following documents:  original signed application, photo ID, Social Security cards for all household residents, current lease, current utility bills and income for the last 30 days.  County residents can also apply on line at www.marylandsail.org .

(Office will be closed July 4th in observance of the holiday).
